Alaska campgrounds are available soon after crossing the border from Canada into Alaska. The Border is at Milepost 1221 and the customs office is at Milepost 1221.8 of the Alcan Highway. From the border, the highway is also referred to as the Alaska Highway.

Alaska campgrounds from Alaska-Canadian BORDER, going north towards Fairbanks: Deadman Lake Campgrounds - has 16 campsites, 6 for large RVs. NO FEES-with a 14 day limit. Has latrines but no water. Fishing is possible. Some firewood and bear-proof garbage cans available. Has a 1/4 mile boardwalk trail. Visitor center open mid-May to mid-September with bear safety talks by Park Rangers in evenings. Located in Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge at Milepost 1249.3 Alaska Highway. Lakeview Campgrounds - has 8 campsites with 30' RV size limit. NO FEES-with a 14 day limit. Has latrines but no water. Located in Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge at Milepost 1256.7 Alaska Highway.Alaska campgrounds going east along the Taylor Highway: West Fork Campgrounds - Has 25 campsites, No size limit on RVs. FEE - $8.00/night with 14 night limit. Has water, latrines and fishing is available. Located at Milepost 49 Taylor Highway.Walker Fork Campgrounds - Has 21 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $8.00/night with 14 day limit. Has water, latrines and fishing is available. Located at Milepost 82.1 Taylor Highway.Eagle Campgrounds - Has 16 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $8.00/night with 14 day limit. Has water and latrines. Located at Milepost 160.3 Taylor Highway.Alaska campgrounds continuing north on the Alaska Highway from the Taylor Highway junction: Tok River Campgrounds - has 43 campsites with a 60' (18.29m) RV size limit. FEE - $15.00/night with a 15 night limit. Has picnic sites, shelter, latrines, water, telephone and trails. Located in Tok River SRS at Milepost 1309 Alaska Highway.Moon Lake Campgrounds - has 15 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $15.00/night with a 15 day limit. Has picnic sites, sandy swimming beach area, a NO FEE small boat launch, water and latrines. Operated by park concessionaire CWL Enterprises - 907-883-3686. Located in Moon Lake SRS at Milepost 1331.9 Alaska Highway. Clearwater Campgrounds - has 17 campsites FEE - $10.00/night with a 15 night limit. Has picnic sites, latrines, water, boardwalk and trails. Boat launch - $5.00 FEE. Located in Clearwater SRS - at Milepost 1414.8 Alaska Highway. Take Clearwater Road 8.5 miles (13.68km) to SRSAlaska campgrounds from Delta Junction going north on the Richardson Highway (continuation of Alaska Highway to Fairbanks): Delta Junction Campgrounds - has 25 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $10.00/night with a 15 night limit. Has picnic sites, shelters, pressurized water and latrines. Located in Delta SRS at Milepost 267 Richardson Highway. Take Reka Road on east side of Highway. Big Delta Campgrounds - has 25 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $5.00/night with a 15 night limit. Has picnic sites, pressurized water, latrines, dump station, trails, museum and gift shop. Dump station FEE - $5.00. Located in Big Delta State Historical Park at Milepost 274.5 Richardson Highway. Run by concessionaire - "Rika's Roadhouse". Take Reka Road on east side of Highway. Quartz Lake Campgrounds - has 93 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $10.00/night with a 15 night limit. Has picnic sites, shelters, water, latrines, fishing dock, swimming area, recreation area. Boat launch FEE - $10.00. Located in Quartz Lake SRS at Milepost 277.8 Richardson Highway. Take Quartz Lake Road on east side of highway, then the lake access road. An Alaska campground KNOWN for its great fishing! Lost Lake Campgrounds - a more remote campground inside Quartz Lake SRS. It has 12 campsites, picnic area, fishing dock, water and latrines. Follow above directions for Quartz Lake. Birch Lake Campgrounds - has 19 campsites with NO size limit on RVs and 5 TENT campsites. FEE - $10.00/night with a 15 night limit plus $5.00/day parking fee. Boat launch FEE - $10.00. Has undeveloped picnic sites, water, latrines and courtesy dock.Harding Lake Campgrounds - has 78 campsites with NO size limit on RVs and 5 tent campsites. FEE - $10.00/night with a 15 night limit plus $5.00/day parking fee. Over 22 additional day use camping areas, some near lake. Has picnic sites, shelters, water, latrines, nature trail, and recreation areas with equipment available from ranger station. Boat launch FEE - $10.00. Dump station is free for campers, but has $5.00 fee non-campers. Firewood can be purchased. Located at Milepost 321.4 Richardson Highway. Take Salcha Drive east of Highway. Salcha River Campgrounds - has 6 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $10.00/night with a 15 night limit. Has picnic sites, water, latrines and a NO FEE boat launch. Located in Salcha River SRS at Milepost 323.3 Richardson Highway.Alaska campgrounds northeast of Fairbanks, along Chena Hot Springs Road: - The following 3 campgrounds are in the Chena River State Recreation Area: Rosehip Campgrounds - has 37 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $10.00/night with a 15 night limit. Has water, latrines, trails and a NO FEE boat launch. Located at Mile 27 Chena Hot Springs Road.Tors Trail Campgrounds - has 24 campsites with NO size limit on RVS. FEE - $10.00/night with a 15 night limit. Parking Fee-$5.00/day. Has picnic sites, water, latrines, trails and a NO FEE boat launch. Located at Mile 39 Chena Hot Springs Road.Red Squirrel Campgrounds - has 12 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. Ophir Creek BLM Campgrounds - has 19 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $6.00/night with 14 night limit. Has picnic sites, water, latrines and boat launch. Located at Milepost 57.3, Steese Highway, then Mile 12, Lower Nome Creek Road. Cripple Creek BLM Campgrounds - has 19 campsites (7 walk-in), some with size limits. FEE - $6.00/night drive-in, $3.00/night walk-in, with 14 night limit. Has picnic sites, water, latrines and boat launch. Located at Milepost 60, Steese Highway.Alaska campgrounds, along the Dalton Highway towards Deadhorse: Five Mile BLM Campgrounds - has 30 primitive campsites. NO FEES with 14 day limit. Has water and latrines. Located at Milepost 60, Dalton Highway. Arctic Circle BLM Campgrounds - has 7 primitive campsites. A wayside is nearby. NO FEES with 14 day limit. Has latrines. Located at Milepost 115, Dalton Highway. Marion Creek BLM Campgrounds - has 26 campsites. FEE - $8.00/night with 14 night limit. Has water, latrines and trail. Located at Milepost 180, Dalton Highway. Galbraith Lake BLM Campgrounds - has 30 campsites. NO FEES with 14 day limit. Has latrines.
