Alaska campgrounds on the George Parks Highway - from Palmer-Wasilla area at Glenn Highway junction with Parks Hwy to Fairbanks

Finger Lake State Campgrounds - has 36 campsites with NO size limit. FEE-$15/night with a 14 night limit OR $5/day parking. Has picnic sites, water and latrines. Boat launch FEE-$10. Located at 0.7 Bogard Road in Wasilla. Operated by concessionaire, Lifetime Adventures - Phone: 1-800-952-8624 or E-mail: info@lifetimeadventures.net.The following three Alaska campgrounds are in Big Lake State Recreation Area. It is entered from Milepost 52.3, Parks Highway. Little Susitna USFWS Campgrounds - has 145 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $10/night with a 15 day limit. Has water, latrines, boat ramp, fishing platforms and dump station. A great salmon fishing river and nice facilities.Take South Knik-Goose Bay Road (or Main Street-same road) off the Parks Highway in Wasilla. Turn off on West Point McKenzie Road, turn north at the "T", then almost immediately west again on Ayrshire Avenue, then take a right at the "Y" onto West Little Su River Road and follow to the river. You can also reach it by going on Big Lake Road to South Burma Road, then west on Ayrshire Avenue, following directions above. Gate access is required and it's about 30 miles (48.28km) off Parks Highway, so check with the USFWS. Rocky Lake Campgrounds - has 10 campsites with 24' (7.32m) RV size limit. FEE - $10/night with a 7 night limit. Has water, latrines and boat ramp. Go 3.5 miles (5.63km) on Big Lake Road.Big Lake North State Campgrounds - has 60 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. Includes tent sites. FEE - $15/night with 7 night limit OR $5/day parking. Has picnic sites, shelters, water and latrines. Boat launch fee - $10. Go 5 miles (8.05km) on North Big Lake Road. Operated by park concessionaire, Lifetime Adventures - 907-746-4644. Reservations may be made up to 7 days in advance.Big Lake South State Campgrounds - has 20 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. Includes tent sites. FEE - $15/night with 7 night limit OR $5/day parking. Popular for year around recreation. Has everything from swimming to water sports and fishing in summer, to ice-fishing, skiing and snowmobiling in winter. Has picnic sites, shelters, water and latrines. Boat launch fee - $10. Go 5.2 miles (8.37km) on South Big Lake Road. Operated by park concessionaire, Lifetime Adventures - 907-746-4644.Nancy Lake State Campgrounds - has 30 campsites, with NO size limit on RVs. FEE-$10/night with a 15 day limit. Has picnic sites, shelter, water and latrines. Boat launch FEE-$5. Located at Milepost 66.5 Parks Highway.South Rolly Lake State Campgrounds - has 98 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE-$10/night with a 15 day limit. Has picnic sites, shelter, water, latrines, trails small and boat launch. This Alaska Campground is 6.5 miles (10.46km) on Nancy Lake Parkway, from Milepost 67.3, Parks Highway.Willow Creek State Campgrounds - has 140 campsites, with NO size limit on RVs. FEE-$10/night with a 4 to 15 day limit, depending on season, OR $5/day parking. Has water, latrines and trails. Fishing available. Located at Milepost 70.8 Parks Highway.Montana Creek Campgrounds - has 36 campsites, with NO size limit on RVs. FEE-$20/night OR $10/day parking. Has picnic areas for each site, water and latrines. Fishing available. Located at Milepost 96.6, Parks Highway (before Talkeetna Road). Operated by concessionaire Susitna Recreational Camps - 907-733-5267.Denali Viewpoint South Campgrounds - has 20 campsites, with NO size limit. FEE-$10/night with a 15 day limit. Has picnic areas at each site, water, latrines and trails. Located at Milepost 135.2, Parks Highway, in Denali STATE Park.Lower Troublesome Creek State Campgrounds - has 20 campsites with NO size limit on RVs. FEE - $10/night with 15 day limit OR $5/day parking. Has picnic sites, shelter, water, latrines and trails. Fishing available. You'll need to bring an Alaska USGS map with you to hike on these trails! They're not well marked or maintained. Located at Milepost 137.2, Parks Highway.Byers Lake State Campgrounds - has 73 campsites with RV size limit of 35' (10.67m). FEE - $10/night with 15 day limit. Has picnic sites, water, latrines, trails and small boat launch. Fishing available. Dump site - $5. Kayak rentals available. Located at Milepost 147, Parks Highway.Denali Viewpoint North Campgrounds - has 9 campsites, with NO size limit. FEE-$10/night with a 15 day limit. Has picnic areas at each site, water and latrines. Located at Milepost 162.7, Parks Highway, in Denali STATE Park.An Alaska Campground on the Denali Highway - from its junction near Cantwell: Brushkana Creek BLM Campgrounds - has 22 campsites with NO size limit. FEE - $8/night with 14 night limit. Has picnic sites, shelter by creek, water and latrines. Milepost 104.3 Denali Highway. Alaska Campgrounds within Denali NATIONAL Park: Entrance to Denali National Park is approximate 237.4 miles (382.06km) north or Anchorage or near Milepost 197 Parks Highway. Besides the 3 campgrounds below, there are 4 tent campsites in the Park. Riley Creek Campgrounds - has 146 campsites with a 40' (12.19m) RV size limit and a 14 night limit. No hook-ups. Has water, latrines, trails and dump station. This is right near the entrance, so has the advantage of being in the middle of all the facilities available in the Park. At Mile 0.4 Denali Park Road.Savage River Campgrounds - has 33 campsites with a 40' (12.19m) RV size limit and a 14 night limit. No hook-ups. Has water, latrines and trails. At Mile 13 Denali Park Road.Teklanika River Campgrounds - has 53 campsites with a 40' (12.19m) RV size limit and a 14 night limit. No hook-ups. This Alaska campground also has a MINIMUM stay of 3 days. Has water, latrines and trails. At Mile 29 Denali Park Road.Chena River Alaska Campgrounds - 60+ RV campsites with NO size limit, 11 have hook-ups. Includes 5 tent sites. FEE - $25/night with hook-ups, $17/night without hook-ups, with a 5 night limit from June 10 to August 10. Has 15-night limits the rest of the season. Has picnic sites, shelters, water, latrines (flush-type) and trails. Dump station FEE - $5; Boat launch FEE - $5. Located at 221 University Avenue on the west side of Fairbanks, off Airport Way. From Parks Highway take the exit to the Chena River SRS.
