Because mountaineering takes very special skills, only a few companies are allowed to guide tours on Alaska's highest peaks. Many companies can take you on other mountains than McKinley and Foraker though, so you still have a number of choices. Though it is not an extensive list, check with any other guide service you plan on using, because almost every one of them has hiking or backpacking trips available for the area in which they operate. It's awfully hard to go anyplace in Alaska's backwoods without doing some hiking too! It does not include guides licensed specifically for big game hunting in that region however. I will be adding those on a separate page for hunting guides.
