Updated Mountaineering Guides Page
I recently updated the page for mountaineering guides in Alaska. Because mountaineering takes very special skills, only a few companies are allowed to guide tours on Alaska's highest peaks.
Many companies can take you on other mountains than McKinley and Foraker though, so you still have a number of choices.

Updated List of Hiking Guides
The list of Hiking and Backpacking Guides has now been updated. Though it is not an extensive list, check with any other guide service you plan on using, because almost every one of them has hiking or backpacking trips available for the area in which they operate.
It's awfully hard to go anyplace in Alaska's backwoods without doing some hiking too!

Updated List of Guides for ANWR
The Arctic National Wildlife Reserve or, ANWR for short, now has a current list of some of the authorized guides for ground and river travel as well as air taxi/charter services.
It does not include guides licensed specifically for big game hunting in that region however. I will be adding those on a separate page for hunting guides.

The Alaska River Guides page has now been updated with current information.
I've also added a number of new river guide companies, which cover a much larger area of Alaska than before.
Happy rafting on Alaska's rivers!

Updated Alaskan Fishing Guides Page
Hope all you fishermen haven't been disappointed by not finding a guide. I've just updated the contact information for the fishing guides page, so it should be much easier. But beware that phone calls to Alaska can sometimes be difficult. It's best to e-mail first.

Updated Tour Guide Service For Bear/Wildlife Viewing
The listing of guides for wildlife and bear viewing has now been updated. Enjoy your summer with an experienced guide showing you Alaska's wildlife in its own natural habitat!
Because these are remote areas, usually you will be flying in a small "bush plane", and meals and lodging are often included in the package.

Updated Alaska Tour Bus Services
I have just completed updating the Alaska Bus Tour Service page. But this is still the very beginning of the summer season in Alaska, so if you are calling and don't receive an answer, do leave a message, or use e-mail if it is available.

Updated Air Taxi Operator Information
If any of my visitors have been trying to use information on the Alaska Guides pages and it was incorrect, I want to apologize. I am now updating these pages and will let you know about each one as I complete it. Today the Air Taxi and Charter Flight listings have been updated.
I also wanted to mention for those outside Alaska, it is difficult to reach them by phone at times. So it is best to use e-mail when it is available.
