Alaskan airlines fly between all major Alaskan cities as well as to most of its smaller towns and villages. That's because it is the only modern method of transportation for much of Alaska's outlying areas.
A large part of the State still has no connecting roads, so boats in summer and dog sleds and snowmachines in winter, are other transport options. The Alaska train has a very limited roll in Alaska's transportation but still is very important to many along its route. NOTE: This page about Alaskan airlines covers flights WITHIN Alaska only. Below I have divided up the information on Alaskan airlines as follows, so it is easy to use: Section A - I have listed the passenger airline carriers that operate within Alaska on regular scheduled flights. - Everts - Operates out of Fairbanks. Has scheduled cargo service to 19 Alaskan villages. Also offers passenger charters for up to 30 people. A truly Alaskan Company.
