Flights to Alaska are available through many major airlines from around the world. But many of them go to one of the other States first, before arriving in Alaska.



Major airlines have traveled to and through Anchorage and Fairbanks for many years. Some of them still do. They have included many European and American airline companies that either no longer have routes through Alaska or no longer exist. Then, of course, we have our own "home-grown" Alaska Airlines!

Anchorage International Airport (now called Ted Stevens Airport) is the major hub for flights to Alaska from the 48 continental states and from around the world. Fairbanks International Airport mostly has flights from Anchorage and many small outlying Alaskan villages, but does does have more major airlines arriving from outside Alaska than ever before.

ALASKAN ARRIVAL CITIES:

The majority of major airlines only land at Anchorage and Fairbanks. Alaska Airlines, make stops at the Southeast Alaskan towns of Ketchikan, Petersburg, Wrangell, Sitka Juneau and Yakutat. Further north than that, they also stop at Cordova and Valdez. KLM also makes stops in Souteastern Alaska.

JAL (Japan Airlines)flies to Honolulu, Los Angeles, Chicago and others; SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) flies to Seattle, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and many other US cities, Lufthansa Airlines flies to Vancouver, BC.
